Hudson will spare you the runaround and sales palaver you get at larger stores, because it has it all—furniture, lighting, bedding, candles, pottery, paper goods, and just about anything else your house could need. If its not in stock, they’ll special-order it for you, and there’s a lot of unique merchandise—about 20 percent of what’s on display was bough by the owner, given plenty of TLC and put up for sale. Hand-sewn pillows and re-upholstered furniture, for example. God forbid, should you order be delayed or screwed up, Hudson will rectify the situation quickly and honestly; no lying or passing the buck. Beyond that, the owner herself often calls to make sure customers are ultimately satisfied with their purchase, which is why so many of them are fiercely loyal.
